Just curious -- why are you mad? because you feel that's exactly how Bush is acting, or that the article is saying that he's acting like that?

Madeleine - you know what? I'm not sure why I'm mad. I think I'm mad because I look at the Patriot Act as a way to significantly diminish our personal freedoms at - what I feel - the cost of "Safety from Terrorism". And yet, I don't believe that any of that is going to generate not a single iota of valid intelligence data - not that we would know what to do with it. I guess I'm bitter because the man that is occupying the Office of the President has been coming across - at least to me - as a pretty friggin' arrogant power monger. Sure, I'm upset over the phrase “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!” Even though it IS just a piece of paper, it is everything that America is built from. It's the other phrase - “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.” that sums up my problem. The "my-way-or-no-way" stand. The "you're with us or against us" position. And - up to recently, where after such a long period of time I no longer believe it - never stating that mistakes were made. I feel that now he's saying that - at least regarding Katrina - that it's only lip-service, saying things that people want to hear, but not really taking responsibility.
