Back to chauffeur duty today. Dad has an appointment with the speech therapist to have his TEP prosthesis changed out. He can't use the valve thing to try to talk anymore - it just doesn't fit now that he's had the radiation treatments. Well, dad has been talking about getting one of those electronic larynx's to try to be able to talk with that. It seems to make sense. Well, it was brought up to Rachel (the therapist) when we were there. She went back to her office and got one for dad to use for a couple of weeks. So now dad has a new toy to play with. He's not getting the hang of it though, he wants to expel air, but he doesn't need to. And what's worse, with his hearing aids, he can't hear the speech either, so he won't know where to place the electrovox thing. This is going to be interesting. I've got a bad feeling that Mom's going to be pretty impatient with Dad.
