Chicago Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa has been suspended for eight games for violating Major League Baseball Rule 6.06 (d) in a game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on June 3, 2003, Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations, announced today.

Update: Yankees 5 Cubs 3. Sosa 1-for-4 2 strikeouts. (Boxscore)
