You know, there comes a tiume when you've just got to "cut the cord"... Microsoft was supposed to end support for Windows 98 this Friday, but has extended support through June 30, 2006. (Windows Millenium Edition expires December 31, but I think they rolled support into the Win98 timeframe. Windows 95 support ended in 2001.) Here's a stat for you: "About 20 percent of all Windows-based computers still run Windows 95 or 98."
I wonder what kind of resources Microsoft will have to retain just to support (and patch!) Win98 and WinME for 2½ more years? And can we just please kill Windows ME? Talk about a worthless opertating system...
Well, I dropped-off carol at O'Hare. She's flying to Las Vegas this morning to work a trade show this week. Am I jealous? Hell, yes! But, there's no way we could have afforded having me go as well. Nuts. So, I'm home alone this week. Should be interesting...
